Sungubala Eco Camp lies in the heart of the pristine Drakensberg, north of the Royal Natal National Park. Set on a secluded mountain farm, Sungubala is a self catering option for nature lover’s, those in search of an active getaway, or a quiet place to relax.
In keeping with the Eco theme, all power is wind and solar generated. Gas is used for cooking and water heating. Guests are encouraged to minimise their environmental impact and to enjoy nature’s beauty. It is a great base from which to explore the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg World Heritage Site.

Important Information
This is an eco camp so no electricity, and no WIFI, and limited cell phone reception. Lighting is supplied by solar and wind generators, cooking is on gas, fridges are also gas and water is heated by solar with a gas back up. It is advisable to bring along a torch in case the power does go down at any time.
The main activity is hiking; there is a guide on site to take people out. Walks can be easy to quite strenuous, depending on the guest’s fitness. There are superb mountain bike trails in the area and there is horse riding nearby. Also available in the area is All out Adventures for a range of fun activities. On site there is a small swimming pool and there is also a jungle gym for children. Guests should bring along there own swimming towels.
