MOUNTAINS OF FUN IN MPUMALANGA
A Mpumalanga gem
Misty Mountain is nestled on the iconic Panorama Route in Mpumalanga, between the towns of Sabie and Lydenburg.
The two-generation family-owned lodge offers a range of activities, spectacular scenery, delightful country cooking and comfortable chalets with log-burning fireplaces, limited self-catering facilities, and private patios. Two-bed, four-bed and six-sleeper units – which are booked on a bed-and-breakfast basis – are available.
The charming Farmhouse, which sleeps 10, is fully equipped for self-catering but meals may be enjoyed at the restaurant.
On-site activities include the Long Tom Toboggan, the longest toboggan run in Africa with an impressive 1.7-kilometer track; trout fishing; guided quad bike rides; hiking and mountain biking trails; swimming and bird watching. There is also a games room and outdoor children’s play area.

Experience the thrill in Hazyview
Skyway Trails offers two outdoor adventures: the Aerial Canopy Trail and the Tree-Top Adventure.
The 1.2km Canopy Trail is made up of eight inter-linked ziplines that take visitors over one of the last natural forested valleys along the Sabie River, adjacent to the Kruger National Park. The elevated platforms between the ziplines allow participants to stop and enjoy the spectacular scenery. The trail is suitable for all ages and requires no skill. Children under 10 are assisted by guides.
The Tree-Top Adventure’s two elevated obstacle courses offer 35 exciting obstacles, including balancing beams, rope bridges, ‘spider webs’ and a 50m zipline. One of the courses is more suited to young children, while the second offers a degree of difficulty and challenges body and mind.
Skyway Trails is situated at Perry’s Bridge Lifestyle Centre in Hazyview, which offers a number of restaurants and interesting shops.

Live the view, feel the forest, fly through the gorge!
The Graskop Gorge Adventure Hub includes a host of activities with widespread appeal.
These include the viewing lift that travels down the face of the cliff, the 600m magical forest experience, the 70m Big Swing (70m freefall, reaches 140km/h in under 3 seconds) and the 130m zipline. Guided electric bike trails will be introduced in the near future.
Viewing decks, the Lift Café with its spectacular views and tantalising menu, and retail offerings complete the experience.
The activities take place on both the northern and southern sides of the breath-taking Graskop Gorge, which is spanned by a 52m-long suspension bridge. An elevated walkway that curves around the gorge provides an alternative route for those who prefer a more solid option.
Enjoy unforgettable views of the forests, gorge, mountains, and waterfall.
Ample parking. Perfectly situated to visit on route to KNP (just outside of Graskop on the R533 towards Hazyview). Tour-group friendly.
