With winter well and truly upon on us there’s no better way to spend a lazy weekend than curled up on the couch with your favourite travel and conservation magazine.

In this months edition we discover a new walking trail that takes you through the private, Big Five, 11 000-hectare, malaria-free Gondwana game reserve. Expert trail guides expose you to the reserve’s unique biodiversity. There is no better way to explore and experience South Africa’s wildlife than on foot.

Then we head north to experience the newly opened Fifty Seven Waterberg. An intimate, luxury lodge situated in the Welgevonden Game Reserve.

Still in the Waterberg we take a closer look at a joint effort by the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT), Lapalala Wilderness Reserve and Tintswalo Lapalala, who all worked tirelessly to ensure that a free-roaming pack of wild dogs was successfully captured and relocated to Lapalala Wilderness Reserve in the Waterberg.

And finally we traverse the oceans to “The Land of The Tiger” where Nirmalya Chakraborty, Founder President and Editor of Jungle Rhythms, educates us on their mission to save The Bengal Tiger . Not only is the tiger deeply rooted in Indian culture but it is also the indicator of the forest’s health and both are under severe threat.

We trust you enjoy this edition of Wildside as much as we enjoyed putting it together for you.
