This Woman’s Month, EcoTraining will be honouring all Women in the Field. There are many women who play a crucial role in the field of conservation in South Africa and each one of them need to be recognised for their valuable contribution in protecting and preserving the natural environment.

EcoTraining has always been committed to employing women, focusing on empowering women from its surrounding communities. Rosemary Maluleke, an EcoTraining camp coordinator, is one of the women employed from the community of Makuleke.

Rosie, as she’s known at camp, has been working for EcoTraining for several years after starting as a cleaner. Her hard work and dedication was rewarded when she was promoted and trusted with the responsibility of camp coordinator at the EcoTraining Pridelands camp.

Maluleke feels at home in the bush and has developed a special love for the wild animals she sees daily.
