“Africa is not just a place. It’s a feeling. Africa is the heart of the world and there are only a few of us who have been touched by her. Africa defines our soul…” - Unknown
The rhythmic sounds of beating drums fill the air. Zulu maidens and brave Zulu warriors tell a captivating story about their culture and beliefs through song and dance and mesmerized guests find themselves deeply immersed in traditional Zulu culture for a brief moment in time.
Whether you are just visiting for a couple of hours as a day visitor or staying overnight, Gooderson’s Dumazulu Lodge and Cultural Village offer guests the opportunity to experience true Zulu hospitality while gaining insight into their local customs and beliefs.
A three-hour drive north of Durban, overnight guests are accommodated in a modern version of a traditional, thatched Zulu hut, equipped with the modern conveniences of a large en-suite bathroom, TV, air-conditioning, and tea-coffee making facilities. No one hut looks the same on the outside as each one is painted in bright colours and represents either a specific tribe or region of Southern Africa. The huts are all arranged in a circle which is representative of the way Zulu villages are traditionally built.
